Jury finds ex-Tinian fireman not guilty
A Superior Court jury on Tinian reached yesterday a not guilty verdict against Christopher San Nicholas King, a 39-year-old former fireman accused of sexually abusing a then-5-year-old girl 10 years ago.
After deliberating on Friday and yesterday, the six jurors acquitted King of the charge of one count of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree.
“We’re just very thankful for the jury and their verdict. We believe in our jury system,” said Joaquin Torres who, together with Victorino Torres, are co-counsels for King.
Assistant attorney general Shannon Folley prosecuted the case.
Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja presided over the trial that began last April 13.
King also used to work as a library attendant. He is currently working at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino, Saipan Tribune learned.
