CNMI team wins awards at Mathleague nationals
Six CNMI high school students competed in the Mathleague.org high school national championship in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 15, 2015, along with their coach, Emanuel Borja.

The competition brought together approximately 25 schools, with 34 teams and 150 students coming from all over the United States.
Being the team that traveled the farthest to compete, the CNMI team was given special recognition for its participation.
In addition to this special recognition, the team garnered several awards for the CNMI.
This is the fifth year that the CNMI has competed in this competition, and the team did better than ever at this event.
The team was composed of Won Woo Choi (12th grade) and Won-Jun Kim (10th grade) from Marianas Baptist Academy; Donggu Hyon (11th grade) and Myungjae Cho (10th grade) from Saipan International School; and Hyun Bin Hwang (12th grade) and Joel Jang (11th grade) from Saipan Southern High School.
Hyun Bin Hwang earned ninth place and Won Woo Choi earned seventh place in the 12th grade individual category.
Myungjae Cho earned 10th place in the 10th grade individual category.
The team garnered fifth place in the “Sweepstakes” category, outperforming 20 of the competing schools. (PR)
