Group off to Singapore to learn about integrated resorts
To have a better understanding and experience what an integrated resort is all about, more than 10 local residents will be flying to Singapore this Friday, courtesy of Saipan exclusive casino licensee Best Sunshine Int., Ltd.
The trip is expected to help residents learn and be familiar with the integrated resort industry that Best Sunshine is bringing to the CNMI.
Best Sunshine, with its 40-year casino license agreement with the CNMI, promises to build a $7.1-billion integrated casino resort on Saipan, and recently inked a deal with CNMI officials on an amended casino agreement allowing the company to construct a live-training facility at the T Galleria in Garapan.
Local residents had the chance to join the Singapore trip by submitting a one-page essay on why he/she is interested and what he/she expects from participating in the contest. The contest, called “Integrated Resort Fact Finding Contest,” was marketed and coordinated by TV show John Gonzales Live.
“Basically it’s an educational fact-finding trip to allow local residents to see, learn, and experience for themselves integrated resorts—just like a familiarization tour or FAM tour,” show host John Oliver Gonzales said.
The group will also look at what the integrated resort industry does and its impact on social and economic livelihoods of people.
“They will interact with various sectors of integrated resorts, including consumers, local residents, visitors, clients, management and staff, regulatory institutions, law enforcement, and compile their facts and findings to frame their perspectives independently and voluntarily,” Gonzales said.
They will return on Wednesday, June 10, and will appear on the John Gonzales Live show to personally share what they saw, experienced, and learned from the trip.
The group’s accommodations will paid for by Best Sunshine, including airfare, hotel stay, and amenities, among others.
