Man threatens to cut wife’s throat
A man accused his common-law wife of having an affair and allegedly threatened to cut her throat at their home in Koblerville Housing on Friday night.
Eric James Fitial Santos, 29, was arrested for assault and disturbing the peace. His bail was set yesterday at $2,000 cash. Preliminary hearing is on June 15 at 9am.
Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho appointed assistant public defender Matthew Meyer as counsel for Santos. Assistant attorney general Barbara Cepeda appeared for the government.
Police detective Maverick Saures stated in his report that the alleged victim, her mother, and Santos were drinking beer in their garage Friday night when Santos and the alleged victim began arguing.
He allegedly threatened to cut her throat and, when the mother of the alleged victim tried to intervene, Santos allegedly threatened to beat her up and told her to leave their house. The alleged victim told her son to call the police.
The night before, Santos allegedly accused his common-law wife of having an affair with a relative.
Last January, Santos allegedly punched the victim in the face, breaking her nose.
