Kilili endorses Clinton to be next US President
“Today, I am endorsing Hillary Rodham Clinton to be the next President of the United States. Hillary Clinton has demonstrated over a lifetime of public service that she is committed to the welfare of all Americans,” Sablan said. “Her wide experience in the public and private sectors, as first lady of Arkansas and the United States, as a U.S. senator, and as Secretary of State has given her the know-how and leadership ability to turn her commitment into results. And she has proven over and over again that she has the toughness to take on those who would hurt our nation or turn us away from our goal of ever-expanding freedom and opportunity for all.”
Sablan believes that gender is not a qualification for President and or that reason, he is particularly enthusiastic in supporting Clinton.
“Her election to the highest office in the land will prove to my five daughters—and to daughters and sisters and mothers everywhere in America—that in the 21st century nothing stands in the way of their success. I believe, too, as America becomes a nation of greater diversity, it is Ms. Clinton and the Democratic Party that will lead us away from the politics of division based on race, religion, or place of origin and toward a politics of inclusion for all Americans. I myself represent that emerging diversity as someone whose heritage is both Pacific Islander and Hispanic.”
The delegate from the CNMI added that he also represents many people who were not born in this country.
“We became U.S. citizens later in life and now proudly call ourselves Americans. So it is important that I give my support to a candidate who sees what unites us all in this great nation and who is unafraid to face bigotry head-on. That candidate is Hillary Clinton. Although the U.S. citizens I represent in the Northern Mariana Islands cannot vote for President—not yet, there are people from the Northern Marianas residing throughout America. I urge them and I urge Asian Pacific Americans in every state and the District of Columbia to demonstrate the growing power of our AAPI community by coming to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8 and voting for Hillary Rodham Clinton to be the 45th President of the United States. Biba Hillary!”
