The man accused of burglarizing the Domestic Violence Intervention Office on Capital Hill was slapped with a three-year prison term after entering a guilty plea.

Franklin C. Crisostomo, 35, signed a plea deal with the government and pleaded guilty last week to the offense of burglary.

Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman accepted Crisostomo’s guilty plea and sentenced him to five years imprisonment, all suspended except for three years.

Crisostomo was given credit for four months and one day already served. It means that he shall be released from prison on Sept. 26, 2018.

After completing the prison term, the defendant will be placed on supervised probation for five years. He was ordered to pay $380 in restitution to the Domestic Violence Intervention Center, $100 fine, $100 assessment fee, plus probation fee.

Crisostomo was required to perform 200 hours of community work service, submit to alcohol and drug testing, complete any recommended counseling by the Community Guidance Center, write a letter of apology to the victim, and stay away from the victim.

According to the plea agreement, on Sept. 15, 2015, Crisostomo burglarized the Domestic Violence Intervention Center with the purpose of committing theft.

Police said the defendant stole a Toshiba television, Acer desktop computer, Lenovo laptop with bag, several Family Violence plastic bags, and family violence task force bags.

Assistant attorney general Heather Barcinas represented the government in this case. Chief public defender Douglas Hartig served as counsel for Crisostomo.
