WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo announced that Rosalyn Mikel has been appointed to the United States Military Academy at West Point in New York.
Rosalyn is the daughter of Alfonso Marcos Mikel of Tamuning and will graduate from Saint John’s School this year. Rosalyn was nominated by Bordallo, and competed with nominees nationwide for admission into the Air Force Academy.
Rosalyn has a strong record of academic achievement and is heavily involved in her school community. She is a member of the National Honor Society, co-captain of the Tsunami Swim Club and member the St. John’s Cross Country Team. Rosalyn has also spent many hours volunteering with various organizations and is actively involved with her church community.
“Rosalyn’s appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point is a testament to her hard work at Saint John’s High School,” said Bordallo. “Rosalyn is a driven student and athlete who will continue to excel at the Military Academy. I congratulate Rosalyn and her family on this accomplishment and look forward to her success as a cadet at West Point and as an officer in the U.S. Army.”
