NMC to host college info sessions, placement tests on Rota
Northern Marianas College will be hosting information sessions and placement tests this week (July 18-20, 2016) in Rota for community members who are interested in furthering their education and advancing their professional careers.
The info sessions will be held on the following date and time:
• Monday, July 18, 2016 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Sinapalo Youth Center (Rota)
• Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at As Paris, Songsong Village (Rota)
The placement tests will be held on the following dates and times:
• Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 9am and 1:30pm at the Rota NMC Campus
• Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 8am at the Rota NMC Campus
The information sessions, which are open to all prospective students and community members, will provide information about NMC’s admissions process, finding money for college, and NMC’s degree programs. There will also be a discussion about NMC’s Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) program, which awards college credit based on an evaluation of college-level knowledge and skill individuals have gained outside the classroom.
Those who attend will qualify to receive a waiver of NMC’s admission application fee and placement test fees. The waiver represents a savings of up to $75.
College faculty, staff, and students from the different degree and certificate programs at NMC, as well as Student Services representatives from counseling, financial aid, and admissions, will also be on hand to provide helpful information and answer questions.
