Labor Day softball tourney set

Teams that wanted to participate in next month’s Labor Day Softball Tournament have until next week to register. The event will be held on Labor Day weekend from Sept. 2 to 4.

The entrance fee is $150 and the deadline for registration is on Aug. 26, which will also be the final day to pay the full registration fee. The tournament is for all-male or female teams.

Venue will be announced at a later date, but event organizers are looking at having the competition at the Capital Hill Ballfield.

The number of teams is limited for easy organization of the tournament, which will have a double elimination round format and will follow official rules of the Amateur Softball Association of America.
