Another company intervenes in Yamamoto suit to collect $165K

Rota Terminal & Transfer Co. Inc. asked the U.S. District Court for the NMI yesterday to allow it to intervene in Japanese investor Takahisa Yamamoto’s lawsuit against Lt. Gov. Victor Hocog and the owners/operators of cargo ship M/V Luta.

Rota Terminal, through Janet H. King, claims that M/V Luta owes the company $165,766 in services, costs, fees, and interest.

King said that from March 17, 2016, to Oct. 31, 2016, Rota Terminal performed stevedoring services, agency services, notice of arrival clearances, vessel clearances, cargo clearances, government clearances, cargo booking services, and administrative services for M/V Luta.

“Rota Terminal brings this action in order to recover amounts indisputably due and owing for the supply of these necessaries,” King said.

King said the services and goods supplied to M/V Luta by Rota Terminal allowed the ship to deliver cargo throughout the region.

King said payment of the invoices totaling $110,511 is now due and owing.
