A 30-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly raping a female tourist at his apartment in Garapan last Sunday.

Min Wei Huang was arrested for sexual assault in the first degree, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.

The alleged victim was taken to the Commonwealth Health Center for bruises on the inner left thigh, back of left thigh, left lower leg, and bruises and scratches on the left upper arm. She had scratches on her left elbow, a bite mark on the left arm, and scratches on the right lower eye.

At a hearing yesterday, Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio imposed a $50,000 cash bail for Huang. Preliminary hearing will be on April 11 at 1:30pm.

Two police officers were dispatched to CHC’s emergency room last Monday night for a reported rape incident.

Police learned from a Chinese interpreter that the alleged victim came to Saipan last March 25 as a tourist and stayed in an apartment in Garapan.

After playing games at a casino, she went to her apartment but her roommate never woke up to open the door. Huang, who stays on the first floor of the apartment, offered his extra room in his unit. She agreed.

While she was sleeping, she was awakened to find Huang already on top of her.

She told police that after the rape, she felt dizzy, in pain, exhausted, and could hardy move because she was tired of fighting off Huang.
