Tinian High School graduate Nathan Manglona Quichocho, the son of Rita Manglona Daniels of Oregon and Ike Quichocho of Tinian, graduated from Johns Hopkins University on May 22 with a master’s degree in Biotechnology Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.

MBEE focuses on how to bring scientific research and medical breakthroughs to patients.

Quichocho currently works as Validation Engineer I for Genentech, widely considered the founder of the biotechnology industry. It is a leader in discovering and developing medical therapies to treat patients with serious or life-threatening conditions.

Genentech’s notable medical breakthroughs include treatment for the deadliest type of cancers and diseases, such as colon cancer/brain tumors (Avastin), breast cancer (Herceptin), and multiple sclerosis (Ocrevus) and is currently working on treatment for Alzheimer’s (Gantenerumab). (PR)
