PIEC fast coming up
The 29th Pacific Islands Environment Conference will be held on June 13-15 at the Saipan World Resort.
The following companies and organizations—Saipan Shipping Co., Hofschneider Engineering, Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance, EA Engineering, Science, and Technology Inc., PBC, Triple J Saipan, Parsons Corp., and the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority—have all expressed their support as sponsors of the conference.
The theme of the conference is “A Sustainable Pacific: Preparing for Change, Voyaging with Knowledge” with a focus on climate change and island resilience, approaches to sustainable development, and connections between public health and the environment.
Registration is ongoing at www.regonline.com/29PIECSAIPAN. The registration fee is $50 for the three days, or $20 for one day. The fees will be increased for onsite registration. The three-day fee will be $75 and the one-day fee will be $30.
For all enrolled students at the Northern Marianas College, organizers have waived the registration fee. Registration is accepted only onsite with a valid student ID at the time of registration.
