Seven pros have already registered for the 2017 Tagaman Triathlon that will be held on June 24.

Tagaman returnees Alexandr Dorovskikh of Russia and Kaon Cho of Korea are among the early birds and are joined in the men’s pro field by the Philippines’ Joe Miller. In the women’s division, Hong Kong’s Leann Zsetoo and Tsang Hung Kang, the U.S.’s Maria Hodges, and Guam’s Manami Iijima are the participants so far.

According to Ricky Castro of the Triathlon Association of the CNMI, which is working with Northern Mariana Islands Cycling Federation in helping Marianas Visitors Authority handle this year’s Tagaman, the seven pros are among the more than 80 individuals who have signed up for the road triathlon competition and this year’s number of off-island entries had already surpassed the 2016 turnout.

The 2017 edition of the Tagaman Triathlon will start in the waters off Kanoa Resort for the 1.5-kilometer swim leg. For the swim-bike and bike-run transitions, triathletes will have to go to Minatchom Atdao Pavilion. From the pavilion, participants will head north up to Banzai Cliff and back to Minatchom Atdao for the 40K bike leg, while the 10K run portion will have its turnaround near the Chamolinian Utt in Garapan.

Registration is still open and can be done via https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=94912. For more information, send email to swimbikerun.saipan@gmail.com.
