Bank of Hawaii has named five small businesses on Saipan as recipients of the I Kinometi Para I Kumunidåt I Islå-ta Small Business Revitalization and Development Grants. Each awardee received $5,000.
Bank of Hawaii established the grant program in 2012 to help promote new Saipan businesses and to encourage existing small businesses to expand.

-3 Strand Christian Outlet will purchase dining room furniture, air conditioning and a new freezer to help with the expansion of its café.

– I.T.C. & Sons Hydroponic Farm will purchase inventory, fertilizer and equipment to expand its hydroponic lettuce operations.

-Rowin’s will purchase materials and hire new employees to manage and harvest 40 additional bee colonies in its wholesale honey production.

-SUP Saipan will purchase two additional stand-up paddleboards and hire a new instructor for its rental service.

-The Shack, Inc. will train and hire two new employees to expand its breakfast and lunch service hours.

Bank of Hawaii is committed to encouraging economic development to help its communities grow and thrive. In addition to this grant program, Bank of Hawaii continues to support the Saipan community through grants made by Bank of Hawaii Foundation and through the work of its employees who provide financial education and serve on the boards of local non-profits. (BOH)
