Make-A-Wish sends off a wish child

The Make-A-Wish Guam and NMI Chapter sent off a wish child to fulfill her lifelong dream of visiting Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Board members of the non-profit group hosted a small send-off party at the Summer Snow Café yesterday for wish child Kei’ani Hofschneider.
According to the chapter’s board member Kanae Quinn, Hofschneider is about the 10th or 11th child who was granted a wish in 2017 for both Guam and the NMI.
Hofschneider will be leaving for Disney World with her mother, sister, and her cousins on Friday where she will also meet with her father for the holidays.
The chapter’s board member, Eleanor Cabrera, said the organization would spend approximately $7,500 on Hofschneider’s trip all together.
According to Hofschneider, she is beyond excited to finally have her wish granted of bringing her loved ones with her to Disney World.
Hofschneider said she is thankful that she was given an opportunity like this by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Hofschneder’s mother, Sirena Santos, said she felt blessed that despite her daughter’s condition, there are foundations like Make-A-Wish that gives children liker her daughter these kinds of opportunities.
“It reminds her that there are great things out there in life on the hard days that she has to deal with,” said Santos.
Hofschneider is 8 years old and has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes mellitus.
