SIS holds its first Wine Tasting Gala
The inaugural Wine Tasting Gala fundraiser for Saipan International School was held on Friday night, Jan. 12, at the poolside of the Hyatt Regency Saipan.
The event featured Beringer wines distributed by Pacific Trading Co.
Funds earned from this event will go to several much-needed improvement projects for the school, including an updated fire alarm system and a remodeling of its elementary school library.
The school hopes to make this an annual event.
In an email from the school’s headmaster, Ronald E. Snyder, he said the event would not have been possible without the “generous support of local sponsors, those that bought tickets, our parent volunteers, our main organizers Tina Goodwin, Angie Mister and Mili Saiki, and the staff and management at the Hyatt Regency and Pacific Trading Co.”
SIS, located in As Lito, is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is the first and only school in Micronesia to be authorized by College Board to offer the Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma.
