McDonald’s Saipan donated $3,000 to Karidat Social Services last Tuesday.
According to McDonald’s Middle Road general manager Joe Ayuyu Jr., his family has always been supportive of Karidat and its services.
Last Tuesday, Ayuyu met with Karidat representatives for the first time to discuss the organization’s goals and to give him a better understanding of what they offer the community.
He said it’s only fair for businesses to give back to organizations like Karidat. “I would like to challenge all businesses to also find ways to help Karidat. It’s the economy and the community that gives us our success so we want to return the success.”
Karidat is also special to him as a loved one has been availing of Karidat’s services.
“I can’t give any names…but I can say that there is somebody who is pretty close to us that avails of the services of Karidat and we’re very happy there is an organization like that to help people in need,” he said.
He promises to continue to support Karidat for the kind of work they do.
“We want to support organizations such as Karidat that focus on helping [the] less fortunate,” he said.
Karidat administrator Judith Pangelinan, who represented Karidat during the donation event last Tuesday, said they are very appreciative of the support.
“We always welcome any donation. Anything that we get and we receive, it’s always being given back to the community. Nothing is left behind,” she said.
