Community gears up for CNMI Women’s Month

Women’s Month is quickly approaching and the CNMI Women’s Association and its partners are gearing up for a monthlong series of activities.
The overall chair of this year’s Women’s Month celebration, Rose T. Ada-Hocog, president of CWA’s board of directors, said the activities will include a proclamation signing, a day of prayer, the 2nd Annual March for H.E.R.S., a girls’ camp, mini workshops on culture, dental clinics and outreach, a pajama-rama, and the annual two-day women’s summit, among other events and activities.
Various community organizations and agencies have volunteered to organize the activities, among them the Women’s Affairs Office, Division of Public Health/Maternal & Child Health Bureau, Northern Marianas College, Carolinian Affairs Office, Division of Youth Affairs, Commonwealth Arts Council, Community Guidance Center, IPI/ Corporate Social Responsibility team, and Marianas Young Professionals.
The CNMI Women’s Month celebration is spearheaded by the CNMI Women’s Association and the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor for Women’s Affairs. The CNMI has adopted “Press for Continued Progress” as its theme for 2018.
With the World Economic Forum’s 2017 Global Gender Gap Report findings that gender parity is over 200 years away, there has never been a more important time to keep motivated and #PressforProgress. And with global activism for women’s equality fuelled by movements like #MeToo, #TimesUp and more, there is a strong global momentum striving for gender parity.

Can anyone help Felicidad Ogumoro on the geographic location and the Indigenous people of these islands, the HOST CULTURE, the CHAMORROS.
The Banner should be Chamorro then English ONLY.
There are numerous languages in the Caroline Islands – Yap State islands & Chuuk Islands are stark difference in language & Culture.
And then there are others in that so-called “Northern Marianas Descent” like NMD Palau, NMD Pohnpei that spoke different language to Yapese, Satawalese, WOleaian, Ulithian; and Chuukese.
And then there are other Asian covered under NMD Japanese, NMD Korean.
