Goofball governance from golf green to WH lawn
 
After Congress completes his impeachment
let us hope and pray for Donald’s resignation
with just a few tweets and a brief news comment
he could give soothing relief to the entire nation
he’s got plenty of moral and ethical smudges
insulting people and ruining outstanding careers
worse is the appointment of incompetent judges
whose negative effect will be around for years
hopefully he’ll depart within the next three years
the exact method of removal remains to be seen
the nation can count on him stirring up fears
despite more time out on his golf course greens
‘after he’s gone’ and the disastrous result shows
permanent damage that was done only history knows.
 
Gun Deaths Second Amendment Breaths
Death across dark waters death throughout the land
death despite our laws big guns in the wrong hands
death across the oceans death on ships on high seas
off the Horn of Africa pirates do as they please
in schools churches campuses and shopping malls
lunatics slaughter innocents bouncing bullets off walls
teenagers lead demonstrations across the nation
Congress drags its legal feet in partisan frustration
meanwhile where will the next gun slaughter be
who will take the blame for this senseless tragedy
there are many different answers to this question
which all bring up more problems and suggestions
the second Amendment needs clarification today
support legislation that takes assault rifles away.
 
Beyond Bigly Pardon: The Donald’s Tale
An emergent exemplum inspired by Geoffrey Chaucer’s The Pardoner’s Tale, part of The Canterbury Tales, which was written between 1387 and 1400. In Chaucer’s work the Pardoner says the theme (for his sermon) is, “Radix malorum est cupiditas” (“The root of evil is desire” or “greed is the root of all evil,” Timothy 6:10).

PART I
Believe me let me make my purpose plain
I’m president for nothing but greed and gain
by using the same tweet I’m a stable genius
“radix malorum est cupiditas”
so I gain money without evangelical Pence
and run the presidency with little common sense
along with my two older sons both equally dense
who take care of business under the Trump tent
I’m doing great with all my moneymaking emoluments
getting out on my golf courses is my secondary intent
covetousness of wealth and power my favorite stuff
of all my greedy desires that is more than enough
a brilliant mind like mine loves dictators of old
they’re the type I remember, copy, and behold.

PART II
Don’t you know they will believe whatever I say
I’ll get more of their money day after day
I will tweet and gain greenbacks in perpetuity
never failing to gather every generous gratuity
just let me blab and grab from rally to rally
and skip my presidential duties forward I sally
yes, to pick up more votes in green states again
is my main strategy I don’t speak in vain
I want more money Russian rubles and gold
I’ll make any deal that results in something sold
in fact I’ve got a few towers up for sale
buy a few bring a good conclusion to my tale
that’s all I have to say since I know I’m winning
keep the media away, my second year is beginning.
