A woman allegedly stole a $15,000 Rolex watch and a $500 heirloom ring from a relative—a 74-year-old woman with disabilities.

Anthony Camacho, 48, a government employee, told Saipan Tribune yesterday that he filed a police complaint against the suspect last Jan. 16, on the same day the Rolex watch was stolen.

Camacho wonders why the police have not arrested the suspect yet since they have investigated the case and interviewed several witnesses.

“We already provided information to police, including the suspect’s whereabouts. This suspect, who is my relative, already scammed a lot of people here,” he said.

Saipan Tribune opted to withhold the suspect’s name until police complete their investigation and make an arrest.

Camacho said the suspect went to their house in Tanapag last Jan. 15 and stole his mother’s Hawaiian heirloom ring with her nickname engraved in it.

The following day, Camacho said, the same suspect asked his mother if she wants to buy cigarette from the store. He said the caregiver tried to stop their mother from leaving, but the suspect, who was with two companions at the time, forced her into their car.

After about 10 to 15 minutes, Camacho said, the suspect returned to the house and dropped of his mother.

Camacho said their mother told them that the suspect took her Rolex watch.

He said their mother bought the watch when she was still working.
