Replacement of food losses for Rota NAP households

 The Nutrition Assistance Program will be accepting requests for replacement of benefits equal to the value of food purchased with food stamps that were spoiled or damaged by the effects of Typhoon Mangkhut, which heavily hit Rota on Sept. 10 and 11.

This includes replacement of NAP coupons that were destroyed by the typhoon.

Replacement of benefits shall not exceed one month’s food stamp allotment. NAP households who were issued their benefits after Sept. 11 are not entitled to the replacement.

The head of household or the authorized representative of the affected NAP household on Rota should visit the Rota Youth Center in Sinapalo village on the following dates and times. Households are required to present their NAP I.D. card and a valid photo I.D.

• Oct. 4, 2018, 3pm to 7pm

• Oct. 5, 2018, 8am to 6pm.

Households will be assisted by a DCCA or NAP personnel who will be asking basic questions as part of the verification process. In addition, households will be filling out and signing a certification of their statements. After these events are completed, replacements will be issued on the same day. Affected households who are not able to visit the Youth Center on these dates have up to Oct. 10 to submit a request. Households should visit the Rota DCCA office in Songsong village or call 532-9354. (PR)
