Marine water sampling temporarily suspended

Due to tremendous damage from Super Typhoon Yutu, the Division of Environmental Quality will be temporarily suspending all marine water sampling for Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.
To protect the public health, safety, and welfare, BECQ has raised red flags on many beach sites and suspended public use (fishing, swimming, etc.) within 300 feet of these locations until further notice.
The Saipan beaches affected are Wing Beach, Pau Pau Beach, Kensington Hotel, San Roque school, Plumeria Hotel, Aqua Resort Club, Tanapag Meeting Hall, Central Repair Shop, Seaplane Ramp, DPW channel bridge, Puerto Rico Dump, Outer Cove Marina, Smiling Cove Marina, American Memorial Park, Micro Beach, Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, its adjacent drainage, Samoa Housing, Grotto Cave, Bird Island Beach, Hidden Beach, Jeffry’s Beach, Old Man By The Sea, Marine Beach, Tank Beach, Forbidden Island, North Laulau Beach, South Laulau Beach, Obyan Beach, Ladder Beach, and Unai Dankulo.
Affected Tinian beaches are the Tachogna Beach, Taga Beach, Kammer Beach, Tinian Harbor, Leprosarium Beach 2, Leprosarium Beach 1, Unai Chulu, Unai Babui, UNai Dangkulo, and Unai Masalok Beach.
Affected Rota beaches are the Kokomo Beach Club, Mobil Storm Drain, East Harbor Dock, Tweksberry Beach, West Harbor Marina, District 2 storm drain, District 1 storm drain, Veterans Memorial, Teteto Beach, Guata Beach, Swimming Hole, and Talakhaya Beach.
