The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library and the Saipan Community School would be holding a ukulele concert tomorrow at the library as part of the library’s 27th anniversary celebration.

The concert, according to JKPL technical services librarian Beth Demapan, would take place from 10:30am to 11am.

The event is free and open as the public.

“Join us on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 10:30am to enjoy a Christmas Ukulele Concert, performed by the Saipan Community School’s Junior High students,” a social media post from the library said.

Since the Library Act of 1990, or Public Law 7-18, was enacted, the JKPL has been operating in the CNMI. It is also known as the CNMI’s State Library.

JKPL resumed operations last Dec. 4, 2018, since the destruction of Super Typhoon Yutu on Oct. 24 and 25.

The library also announced yesterday that they are now connected to the island power.

As of today, the JKPL would be open from Tuesdays to Fridays from 9am to 5pm and Saturdays from 9am to 3:30pm.
