OWWA heads to Saipan
A Philippine government agency tasked with overseeing the welfare of its overseas workers would be heading to Saipan for the upcoming Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam’s consular outreach mission on Saipan this Sunday.
Philippine honorary consul Glicerio Arago yesterday confirmed that Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Atty. Evelyn Llanes would be arriving to Saipan to address the renewals of OWWA membership on Saipan during the consular outreach mission, which would be held at the Kristo Rai Parish social hall in Garapan from March 3, 2019 to March 5, 2019, 8am-4pm.
The Consulate General of the Philippines in Guam reminds those who are expecting their ePassports to show up at the venue on the date and times indicated in the schedule and to were the proper attires.
For consular services, including passport renewals, which require civil registration documents such as birth certificates and marriage certificates, documents from the Philippine Statistics Authority or from the former National Statistics Office will be accepted.
According to the Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam’s social media page, they are expecting a total of 420 instances of ePassport applications for Saipan over the three-day span at 140 applicants processed a day.
In an official OWWA memorandum of instructions No. 003, series of 2018, those who have had their OWWA membership enrolled or renewed should be submitted together with the Overseas Filipino Worker Membership form and a copy of the member’s passport page showing personal data along with a valid residence permit, or a permit to stay for work, a permit to stay, or an employment authorization card; a proof of payment or contribution to the Social Security System of the host country; a pay slip issued by the employer, company, or manpower agency; a certificate of employment issued by the employer; or any other proof of employment as required to validate the OFW’s continued presence and employment abroad.
