Application period open for Head Start program

The Head Start/Early Head Start Program is now accepting applications for school year 2019-2020.

The CNMI PSS Head Start/Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership Program offers preschool and infant-toddler programs for eligible children and families.  Head Start serves children 3 to 4 years old and Early Head Start serves children 6 weeks to 36 months old.  The program does not charge fees for enrollment.  

The center-based program includes developmentally appropriate learning, family engagement, nutritious meals, health services and support for children with special needs.  Head Start aged children do not need to be potty trained.  

Printed applications are available at all Head Start/Early Head Start centers and offices on Saipan, Tinian and Rota. Additional locations to pick up an application: on Saipan at  NAP, Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, WIC, CHCC, NMHC, H.O.M.E. Visiting Program, Kagman Health Clinic, DYS, DCCA Child Care Office, and Medicaid Office; on Tinian at Tinian Health Center; and on Rota at Rota Health Center.

Application deadline is June 14, 2019, to be considered for an enrollment slot at the beginning of the school year.  The program will continue to accept applications on an ongoing basis after the initial recruitment period.

Applications need to be submitted in person by the child’s parent or legal guardian at the following locations:

– Saipan: Head Start Office, Building 1256, Capitol Hill

– Tinian: Tinian Head Start Center

– Rota: Sinapalo Head Start Center
