Lion’s Club youth camp in Guam
Lion’s Club International held a youth camp last week in Guam, with 13 students from Saipan participating.
The club’s Leadership, Experience, and Opportunity camp was held last April 12-14 at the Aga Sagan Bisita in Guam. A total of 41 participants ages 12 to 18 years old joined the camp.
“They are the prospective Lions Clubs members once they turn 18,” said LCI region 2 chair Annamae Adaza in a statement.
Youth Lion’s Clubs are called Leo Clubs. Right now, there are three on Saipan: the Saipan Unity Teens Leo Club, Saipan Marianas Alpha Leo Club, and Saipan Mighty Dolphins Leo Club.
The annual camp focuses on meeting different people, sharing different talents, and establishing friendships.
“The annual camp…brings out the best in [students],” Adaza said.
The camp included a presentation from the Guam National Guard and the Guam Police Department, along with several activities such as watercolor arts, shirt weaving, first aid presentations, coconut leaf weaving and a presentation from Lion’s Club International.
“It was the first time for majority of the members to join the camp and to travel to Guam, so all of them were excited,” added Adaza.
