Individuals who participate in the Northern Marianas College’s upcoming “Cash for College” workshop will qualify to have their NMC fall 2019 admission application fee and placement test fees waived.
The waiver represents a savings of up to $75.
The first Cash for College workshop will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the NMC campus between Buildings N and O, from 9am to 12pm.
On Tinian, the workshop will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at the NMC Tinian Center, from 10am to 2pm.
The purpose of the workshops is to help students and their parents maximize scholarship opportunities that are available to students seeking to obtain a college education.
The workshops are open to new and ongoing students, as well as members in the community who are interested in finding money for college.
Workshop participants will be given personal, step-by-step assistance in completing college financial aid forms, focusing especially on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the CNMI Scholarship, municipal scholarships (like the Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance), the TEACH Grant, and more.
Although not required, it is recommended that workshop participants bring a valid form of identification (e.g., a valid U.S. passport, copy of valid application for a U.S. passport, birth certificate, or green card), an official transcript from high school (at least three official copies), copy of 2017 and 2018 1040, copy of 2017 and 2018 W-2 (if not filing), and proof of CNMI residency, including proof of continuing residency.
