After competing in the 2019 Northern Marianas Junior Championships last week, Robbie Schorr and Ken Song left for Fiji to play in the Pacific Nations Cup 2019.

The two junior players are entered in the Men’s League and will be seeing action in Group C in pool play. Song and Schorr, who left Saipan last Sunday, will go up against Samoa, the Fiji Development Team, and Kiribati. The Pacific Nations Cup 2019 will be played starting today and will run until June 2 at the ITF Regional Tennis Centre in Lautoka. American Samoa, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Nauru, Norfolk Islands, and the Federated States of Micronesia are also playing in the week-long tournament.

The two CNMI bets will have their debut game against the Fiji Development Team at 12pm (10am Saipan time). Song and Schorr will be representing the Commonwealth in the team event for the second time. Last year, Jimin Woo joined Song and Schorr and the trio finished in the Top 10 of the men’s field. The CNMI ruled the women’s division last year with Carol Lee, Isabel Heras, and Conatsu Kaga teaming up. Lee is currently in Italy, competing in the ITF Juniors World Tour, while Heras and Kaga are in the U.S. and Japan, respectively.

Meanwhile, though Woo is not playing in the Pacific Nations Cup 2019, he will still be in Fiji to train at the facility after receiving a scholarship from the Oceania Tennis Federation.

Woo, Schorr, and Song all participated in the 2019 Northern Marianas Junior Championships. Schorr made it to the third round of the singles event, while Song moved to the second, and Woo dropped his opener. Song and Woo teamed up in the doubles and marched into the second round.
