Search for San Vicente intruder continues
A week since the home invasion in San Vicente that left a woman and teenager bruised and beaten, the search continues to find the assailant, according to the Department of Public Safety.
In a statement from DPS spokesperson Adrian Pangelinan last Friday, he said that detectives are still investigating the case and are looking into all leads. “At this point, we do not have any identification [yet] of the assailant,” he said.
According to Saipan Tribune archives, the Blas residence in San Vicente was entered into by a masked intruder who knocked two members of the household unconscious, and one of the victims was reportedly beaten as she tried to fight off the intruder.
One victim was a 28-year-old woman and the other was a 14-year-old male.
DPS received a call at about 3:43pm on June 2 reporting a disturbance that was in progress at San Vicente.
At about 3:49pm, as a police vehicle was making its way to the reported residence, an individual by the side of the road flagged it down. The individual told police that they were struck with an object that knocked them out but they later regained consciousness.
At about 3:52pm, a second police vehicle arrived and made its way toward the residence where officers met with the victim who made the call.
Officers learned that the female victim was asleep when she was awakened by the weight of a person over her.
The victim told police that she fought back as the suspect hit her several times but she then lost consciousness.
The victim said that, once she regained consciousness, she called 911 for assistance.
The victim was taken to the Commonwealth Health Center where she was seen and admitted. The victim reportedly remains stable and responsive.
