25 take oath as new US citizens
Twenty-five persons took their oaths yesterday as new U.S. citizens during a naturalization ceremony.
The ceremony was held at the U.S. District Court for the NMI in conjunction with the commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of World War II.
Author and TanHoldings Corp. consultant David Mangarero Sablan served as the guest speaker. He recounted his difficult experience as a child on Saipan during the war.
U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona presided over the ceremony for the 25 new citizens who are originally from the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, China, and Russia.
Among those who became new U.S. citizens are Filipino couple Ramir Castro Deleon and Marivic Mendoza Deleon Leon, as well as Marivic Deleon’s stepmother, Marilyn Oronce Mendoza.
The other new citizens are Saint Michael Barriga Achas, Geraldine Avinon Cabrera, Ronaldo Plazo Catap, Edel Garcia Cudia, Minda Doronila Cullen, Remedios Salenga Cruz, Francisca Isla Delos Reyes, Natalya Deryabina, Roberto Jaurigue Guevarra, Joel Mallari Javier, and Gil Jin Lee.
The others are Conrado Tayag Libut, Joji Napoli Arenas Libut, Eden Arellano Mercado, Jennet Cayubit Navarro, Cecilio Agustin Pagarigan, Felicidad Pijaro Pagarigan, Kimi Saito Reyes, Yingshi Jin Romolor, Jung Soon Park Sablan, Honesto Saquilayan Servida, and Eduardo Reyes Taruc.
