Leisha Deleon Guerrero is 2019 Miss Earth NMI

Leisha Deleon Guerrero was crowned the 2019 Miss Earth Northern Marianas after the first-time pageant was staged in the CNMI last Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s ballroom.
Deleon Guerrero went head-to-head with seven other young women for the crown and title of Miss Earth NMI. She will be representing the CNMI at the annual Miss Earth International pageant in the Philippines.
Deleon Guerrero is a 19-year-old early graduate of Marianas High School and currently a sophomore at the Northern Marianas College.
She hopes to one day become a veterinarian for the islands. As part of her environmental advocacy, Deleon Guerrero is concerned about the planned military activities in the northern islands.
“I am so grateful for this opportunity,” Deleon Guerrero said.
She added that the whole Miss Earth NMI experience has been a learning experience and being able to give back to the community is at the forefront of her mind.
For her Miss Earth NMI victory, she took home the crown and sash, $1,500 in cash, and other prizes.
Deleon Guerrero also won the People’s Choice Earth Warrior, Best in Evening Gown, Best in Swimsuit, and Best in Native Costume.
Coming in second place and crowned Miss Air was Pheona David. David was awarded $800 from Exquisite Productions and other prices. David also won the Miss Earth Environmental award.
Second runner-up and crowned Miss Water was Jan Zowie Cruz. Cruz was awarded $500 from Exquisite Productions and got the Miss Photogenic award.
Completing the top 4 and crowned as Miss Fire was Katherine Johnson.
Mary Joy Masongsong was awarded the Miss Earth Northern Marianas Exquisite Star and Miss Friendship awards.
The remaining Miss Earth NMI contestants were Nicole Malakai, Joanna Navarro, and Jessme Jones.
