The American Red Cross has donated 500 mosquito nets to the Marshall Islands Red Cross Society.

These nets will be distributed to families on Ebeye to help stop the spread of dengue, a mosquito-borne viral infection.

Working in collaboration with the MIRCS, the International Red Cross and other partners in the region, these nets will help families prevent infection and potentially save lives.

“The Red Cross in the CNMI is always willing to provide urgent assistance to our brothers and sisters in Micronesia,” said John Hirsh, executive director of the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter.

United Airlines has provided a discount and is prioritizing shipping this critical humanitarian aid shipment.

The American Red Cross-NMI Chapter credits this donation to “the generosity of donors here in the CNMI and around the region.”
