McDonald’s hammers Hawaiian Rock

McDonald’s clobbered Hawaiian Rock, 87-45, in the second game in the 2018 JP World Corp. Customer Appreciation Basketball League last Tuesday at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium.
McDonald’s went straight for the jugular in the first quarter to earn the lopsided victory. The first period ended with McDonald’s sitting comfortably ahead, 23-5, and the winning team kept pouncing on Hawaiian Rock in the second and third frames before bringing down the hammer in the fourth.
Jaymark De Guzman scored 7 points in the first quarter, as his production alone was enough to outgun the hapless Hawaiian Rock. Sean Macaranas chipped in 6 points, making his baskets in streak, while five other McDonald’s players made it to the board for the squad’s strong start.
While scoring was easy for McDonald’s right in the opening quarter, Hawaiian Rock struggled with its offense after drilling only two field goals—one each from Allan David and Benjie Ayeras. Jampes Reyes was the other scorer for Hawaiian Rock, as he split his free throws for the squad’s first point in the match.
Hawaiian Rock still could not get its offense going in the next two periods, as it logged only 11 and 7 points in the second and third periods. In contrast, McDonald’s made all kinds of shots and combined for 47 markers in that stretch for a whopping 70-23 advantage going into the final canto.
With the win secured, McDonald’s allowed Hawaiian Rock to pick up garbage points in the fourth frame and the latter nearly marched its total production in the first three periods after recording 22 points.
De Guzman led McDonald’s rout of Hawaiian Rock after posting 18 points, while Justine Achas, Macaranas, Jun Fidelino, and T.J. Ladra also contributed twin digits, registering 16, 12, 11, and 10 points, respectively. Bobby Cruz was the lone double-figure scorer for Hawaiian Rock after tallying 18 markers.
