To help advance literacy by supporting library services for the CNMI, Atkins Kroll Toyota has donated a 2020 Toyota Corolla Sedan as a hole-in-one prize for the 4th Annual Friends of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Nov. 10, 2019, at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort’s west course.

“The library is important in the community for kids, for families, for education,” said AK general manager Clark Boswell. “We are always happy to support these kinds of organizations. The library is important. It is not a private business, so I am sure they need all the help they can get as far as support and sponsorships [go].”

Boswell pointed out that AK always supports the library’s golf tournament, and it is a good way to create some excitement to the game.

JKPL technical services librarian Beth Demapan expressed gratitude for AK’s continued support to the library. “We’re so happy to have the support and sponsorship of a hole-in-one by Atkins Kroll Toyota,” Demapan said. “Atkins Kroll has continued to support the library and, through their sponsorship, they are able to make sure that the library’s programs and services are funded for the community because they’re helping us with these fundraising activities.”

The fundraiser is the last tournament of the season, and JKPL is hoping that the community will come out and support it.

The last day to register is on Nov. 7, Thursday, at 5pm.

“It is $200 per team. Come out to the public library and purchase your entry form there, or go to the Laolao Bay golf course,” Demapan said.

Proceeds from the 4th Annual Friends of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library Golf Tournament Fundraiser will go to support the resource and collection development, circulation materials, and the free programs and services that the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, the Bookmobile, the Tinian Public Library, and the Antonio C. Atalig Memorial Library provide for the CNMI.

To support the fundraiser and for more information, contact Demapan or golf committee chair Joey Dela Cruz at 235-7315/235-7316/287-7161.
