The new year brings a new food delivery app on Saipan. The unique thing about this new food delivery app, however, is that it’s more than that. Co-owner Clint Albert said that Eats Easy is also a marketing app for restaurants and food establishments to promote their offerings to customers.
“It’s a new and exciting marketing tool for local restaurants that creates a captured market for your marketing campaigns and ads,” he said.
Eats Easy is also the first, and so far, only GPS-based app designed for food delivery service for the people of Saipan, he added.
For the basics, Easy Eats delivery cost is $4 for 5 miles or less, $7 for 5.1 miles to 6.9 miles, $9 for 7.1 miles or farther, or 10% of total order, whichever is higher.
What’s more, Eats Easy provides 1 point for every accumulated $100 spent by users. In turn these points can be used as dollar value to pay for the service.
“If you are hungry we will make sure to bring your cravings to you and conquer that hunger!” said Albert. Unlike other delivery services on island, Eats Easy allows customers to track the delivery because the app uses GPS.
“Users receive delivery information and can track the whereabouts of the driver who will deliver to them,” he said.
With Saipan having next to nothing in terms of food delivery service and it being a small island, that makes it a fertile ground to start Eats Easy, Albert said.
“We feel there is a need for food delivery service as most restaurants here do not deliver, unlike most parts of the world where you have a lot of restaurants doing their own delivery plus apps like ours also doing delivery for them. We believe [Eats Easy], together with our other features and functions, will help market [local] restaurants and expand their reach,” he said.
Indeed, the delivery service only scratches the surface of Eats Easy’s capabilites; the app is also a platform in itself to market restaurants to customers.
Albert, who is behind The Game Athletics clothing brand on Saipan, said Eats Easy’s marketing feature gives restaurants that sign up a flexible and affordable medium to advertise their menu, promotions, and news.
“It’s a flexible and affordable marketing platform and has the potential to increase business revenue by an additional 30-40% without worrying about table turnover,” he said.
Soon Eats Easy’s fleet of delivery vehicles will bring food to as high as Mount Tapochao and as far as Cowtown.
The marketing feature includes streaming banner in the app itself, email and text blasts to specific target audience, and app coupons and promos.
But why launch the Eats Easy app on Saipan? Albert said it’s all about firsts. “Being the first GPS-based food delivery app in the island is something we can be proud of and, when the business expands, we can also say it was born and raised on the island of Saipan before it was bigger.”
Aside from Albert, Eats Easy is also owned by Marco Santiago, Lovely Macaranas, and Jeric Despi.
Eats Easy will launch this month and the app can be downloaded on Google Play Store for Android and Apple Store for iPhone by next week.
