One tests positive for COVID-19 in Guam
An individual who recently traveled to the continental United States and was staying in a government quarantine facility tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday in Guam.
According to the Joint Information Center in Guam, the new case was confirmed yesterday afternoon. A total of 22 individuals remain in isolation and are in stable condition. The Department of Public Health data shows that, of the 22 individuals, 14 are in home isolation, six are in an isolation facility, and two are in the military.
Additionally, Guam has been opening up slowly, which means that malls and churches have opened with new policies that will ensure social distancing.
The island’s Catholic churches will again have Masses in church beginning May 30-31. Churches will not be able to exceed 50% capacity and social distancing will be required among attendees.
After more than two months of closure, Ross reopened at the Guam Premier Outlets and the Micronesian Malls, with social distancing and limited capacity inside.
To date, Guam has a total of 166 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 138 released from isolation.
