Tinian landfill hours
The Department of Public Works would like to inform the community that the Tinian landfill will be open today, July 2, and tomorrow, July 3, from 9am to 5pm. The dump will be closed on Saturday, July 4, in observance of the holiday. And regular operations will resume again on Monday, July 6. APL fuel surcharge reduction
TAMUNING, Guam—APL reduced its Fuel Adjustment Factor for shipments to Guam and Saipan by 17% effective last July 1, 2020. This reduction also applies to export containers from Guam and Saipan to the U.S. APL
Guam general manager Charlie Hermosa said, “APL continues to evaluate the fuel index and therefore we will be making an adjustment that will greatly assist the business community with much needed cost relief in these challenging times. Our commitment to the community is that we will consistently evaluate the fuel market and make any necessary adjustments.”
Reefer containers in and out of Guam and Saipan to the United States are also included in the reduction and will be at 14%. (PR)
Ortizo lands on dean’s list
NEWARK, DE—Michael Roy Ortizo of Saipan has been named to the University of Delaware dean’s list for the spring 2020 semester.
To meet eligibility requirements for the dean’s list, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester. (PR)
