Majesty Restaurant, in partnership with Marianas Medical Center and an anonymous benefactor, served 172 hot meals on Thanksgiving Day.
The spread included roast chicken, ham, rice, vegetables, bread, fruit, cake/pie, water, and a relief bag.
The food distribution was part of the restaurant’s “Full Belly, Full Hearts” program, which aims to give out 1,000 meals to help the unemployed, reduced hours, low-income, homeless people impacted by COVID-19.
Majesty Restaurant and MMC would also like to thank Dan Dan Bakery for donating 100 pieces of dinner rolls; Bitoy’s BBQ and Herman’s Bakery for providing at-cost, discounted chicken and ham; Andreu Zhuk of Zhuk Corp. for providing discounted bananas; and donors from the Northern Marianas College for donating food items to include in the relief bags.
Aside from distributing hot meals on Thanksgiving, Majesty Restaurant and MMC also handed out meal vouchers to recipients who were unable to receive a Thanksgiving meal from the Salvation Army the day before. The Salvation Army provided 300 Thanksgiving meals.
Majesty Restaurant and MMC plan to do it all over again before Christmas Day
Since the Labor Day weekend, Majesty Restaurant and MMC’s “Full Belly, Full Hearts” program have distributed close to 800 meals. No registration or ID is required to receive a free meal and a relief bag. Those needing food assistance can also email FoodBox.Majesty@gmail.com.
