Frances Sablan tops SGA March Ace

Frances Sablan topped the Saipan Golfers Association March 2021 Ace of the Month Tournament after shooting a net 73 last March 14 at the Coral Ocean Point Golf Course.
Sablan scored identical 52s in the front and back nine to finish with a gross of 104, which minus her 31 handicap gave her the month’s best score.
Larry Deleon Guerrero actually tied Sablan with his net 73—built around a gross of 90—but lost the March tourney via a scorecard tiebreak. The 90-handicapper registered mirroring scores of 45 and 45 in the front and back nine.
Joe I. Sablan completed the Top 3, one stroke over Sablan and Deleon Guerrero’s score with a net 74. The 27-handicapper came away with a 54 in the first nine holes before shooting a 47 in the final nine for a gross of 101.
In the closest to the pin competition, Jung Eun Teack won in hole No. 3, Rene Batallones was without peer in hole No. 7, while Tony Benavente and Alex Tudela were the winners in holes No. 7 and 14.
Janet Torres topped the longest drive in hole No. 7, while Tony Benavente duplicated the feat in hole No. 18.
The April 2021 SGA Ace of the Month Tournament will be played at the Kingfisher Golf Links in Talafofo on April 18. Tee time is at 9am with a show time of 8:30am.
