Overrated methods

Having perspective gives you an advantage. I’ve helped people learn how to become self-sufficient with their training. I had a brief stint running my own fitness business before moving back home. Been featured in a few online publications. You can say I’ve learned quite a bit. Yet, my first real start in life wasn’t until three months ago.

As a new father, I have an entirely different outlook.

You see, I’ve always had a great deal of respect for busy professionals and working parents that continue to prioritize their training to the best of their ability. Well, now that level of appreciation has now grown tenfold. It’s almost inevitable that you’re going to go through periods where the other competing demands in your life may temporarily put you in a rut. As a result, where you prioritize fitness in your life can suddenly change. So, to see how some folks are able to navigate their own circumstances has had such a positive effect on how differently I approach things.

Ditch the elaborate and complex
For years, I’ve championed the significance of keeping things simple—because in no other industry will you find more people who truly believe they’re experts than in the health and fitness space spewing absurdity. And if you didn’t already know by now, that drives me insanely nuts.

There are qualified professionals who give out practical insight but there are so much more who are in way over their head.

This isn’t the answer nobody wants to hear, but it’s the truth: there is nothing revolutionary about what we do to get in shape, and maintain it. By no means am I dismissing the complexities of fat loss and building muscle. Unequivocally, everyone will have their unique barriers to address.

That being said, making better food choices, controlling your portions, and regularly lifting weights are at the forefront. The nuances can come later.
