TanHoldings hammers Shirley’s to remain unbeaten

Head met tail in the curtain-raiser of the girls U15 tripleheader in the NMIFA Summer Youth League 2021 with the favored TanHoldings Football Club crushing Shirley’s Football Club, 14-1, last Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
Audrey Castro and Kaithlyn Chavez made half of TanHoldings’ total goals to give the leading team its third win in as many games. Castro scored four goals, while Chavez added three. Julie Anne Capayas and Tamia Hix contributed two apiece, while Matty Angeles, Rizza Relucio, and Aubrey Castro had one each. Charmille Achas posted the only goal for Shirley’s, which has yet to earn a victory this season and is at the bottom of the team standings after dropping its first three matches.
Kanoa-1 11, Kanoa-2 3
In the battle between sister teams, Kanoa-1 showed no love lost to Kanoa-2.
Kanoa-1 went for the kill early, firing eight goals in the first half to demolish Kanoa-2.
Hope McQuay and Kaleen Leemarvin alternately scored at will for Kanoa-2, registering four goals apiece in the first half for their 8-2 halftime edge. Aubrey White and Elikristana Iglecias could only counter with one goal each in the first half for Kanoa-2, which failed to overhaul the lead in the second as only Maria Haberman scored at the resumption of the match.
Kanoa-1 added three more goals in the second half with a pair coming from Sophia Quintos and Hope getting her fifth goal in the closing minutes of the game. Kanoa-1 recorded its second win in three assignments, while Kanoa-2 had only one victory to show so far after absorbing its second loss.
Southern United 11, Paire 2
Southern United also logged its second win following a rout of Paire in the last game in the division.
Megan Elayda, Pia Ngewakl, and Rosie Jean Saralu joined forces in Southern United’s convincing victory. Elayda tallied five goals, while Ngewalk and Saralu contributed three each. Paire’s two goals came from Phoenix Gross and Alana Hayes.
