Oleai Elementary School students—affectionately referred to as “turtles” in reference to the school’s mascot—continue to shine in all their events in the third virtual monthly qualifying competitions of the Primary Grades Forensic Conference, which started in November 2021 and finished in January 2022. The group events, which were scheduled in December 2021, were further moved to January due to remote learning. All the group events, which consists of four groups of Duo Interpretation and one group of Choral Speaking, practiced for one week in January and were all winners.
OES students did an excellent job and placed in all their events since the start of the competition in September 2021. Students continue to practice after school in preparation for the regional competition after one more monthly competition in February. All events are pre-recorded videos except for Impromptu Speaking, which is live via Google Meet.
PGFC competitions encourage public and private school students from kindergarten to fifth grade to participate in and become proficient in the forensic performing arts: reading, public speaking, and interpretation.
Thank you to our OES PGFC coach, Esther Manzano, teachers, and parents for the partnership in supporting our students. Oleai Elementary School Turtle Family would like to extend their congratulations to the following winners who participated in this competition.
