KFC Bombers drop UOG Tritons in Triton League game,115-82

The KFC Bombers defeated the University of Guam Men’s Basketball Team 115-82 on Monday night at the UOG Calvo Field House in a Triton Men’s Basketball League game.
The Bombers came out with a hot shooting hand in the first quarter scoring 37 points in the opening 10 minutes with Jaden Finley leading the way with 9 points. The Tritons opened with a solid 20 points in the first quarter, but on this night, they were 17 points down after the opening period.
The Bombers outscored UOG 23-16 in the 2nd quarter, as both teams cooled off in the 2nd ten minutes, but the Bombers increased their lead to 60-36 at half-time.
The Tritons tried a comeback in the 3rd period, with their own hot shooting quarter as UOG scored 33 points in the 3rd ten-minute period led by Matt Santos with 13 points and the Tritons at several points, cut the Bombers lead to 12 points midway in the quarter, but the Bombers came back themselves and restored their 20 point lead by the end of the third period and led 91-69 entering the fourth period.
The Bombers cruised in the fourth period to a 115-82 victory.
The Bombers were led Jaden Finley with 23 points and Russel Wienn with 18 points. Four other KFC players had double digit points. Matt Santos had 20 points for the Tritons, Diane’ Blackmon with 11 points and Ike Solomon with 10 points were the other Tritons in double figures. Santos also hit a miracle shot in the 3rd period, as he stole the ball and while racing down the sideline, was forced out of bounds but threw an underhanded pass/shot toward the UOG goal and the ball banked in for a 3 point score from 50 feet away.
The win pushes the Bombers record to 3-0 in the Triton League while UOG dropped to 0-3. On Wednesday night at 6:30pm, the Bombers face the undefeated MVP Stars (3-0) for the lead in the Triton Men’s Basketball League. UOG faces the winless M.B.I. Four Stars (0-3) as both teams battle for their first win in the league.
In the second game of the night, Team Wu Tang defeated Team OG 95-90. Wu Tang moved to 3-1 in the league while Team OG fell to 1-3. Wu Tang was led by Dana Holmes with 26 points while Stefon McCray added 22 points. Team OG was led by Chris Conner with a game leading 39 points. (PR)
