Double A Corp. and The Game posted lopsided wins in the masters and open divisions, respectively, of the 2nd Annual Saipan Centennial Lions Basketball League last Saturday at the Civic Center Basketball Court in Susupe.
In the first game, Double A. Corp led after the end of all quarters and beat winless RNV Construction, 86-67, for its first win in three games.
After a slim 21-16 lead, Double A. Corp padded that advantage to 46-35 at the half.
RNV Construction managed to trim a point off their deficit after three quarters of play, 61-51, but that was all she wrote for the 0-5 team as they lost by 19 points.
Center Ariel Baul led a strong Double A. Corp. charge with 18 points, while guards Fradel Sedillo and John Capuyon combined for 18 markers in support.
Ronald Rueda continued to be a bright spot for the otherwise awful RNV Construction with 22 points, while Jojit Jumaquio added 12 in support.
In the second game, The Game improved to 3-1 after thumping Socho Team, 65-45.
The match was competitive only in the first 20 minutes of action that saw The Game take 18-14 and 35-30 leads after the first and second quarters.
The Game, however, made it into a monumental mismatch at the start of the second half, taking a 54-34 spread after three quarters of play before cruising to the 20-point win.
Matthew Richardson and Arnold Arellano led a balanced attack for The Game with 11 markers each, while Socho was spearheaded by the 9 points each of Dee Jones and Athan Taisague. Socho lost its fourth straight game.
