JSN drubs Double A; Ol’Aces remains perfect

JSN Enterprises collected just its second win in the masters division, while Martech Ol’Aces remained perfect in the open division of the 2nd Annual Saipan Centennial Lions Basketball League last Saturday at the Civic Center Basketball Court in Susupe.

In the first game, JSN Enterprises improved to 2-2 after routing Double A Corp., 74-57.

It was tight in the first half with the eventual victors settling for leads of 14-11 and 32-27 in the first and second quarters, respectively. 

JSN Enterprises eventually made their move come the third, as they separated themselves by taking a 53-42 spread after the three quarters of play before cruising to the 17-point win.

High-flying Reymond Santos led the way for JSN Enterprises with 24 points, while Jawn Joyner added 14 of his own.

Oliver Rivera paced Double A Corp. with 15 markers in the team’s fourth loss in five tries.

In the second game, Martech Ol’Aces zoomed to its seventh straight win against no loss after chomping on Puerto Rico Bento, 82-66.

The Oleai team blazed the court from the get-go after opening with a 23-9 advantage after the first 10 minutes.

They would maintain that lead throughout the contest and were led by the balanced scoring of Douglas Schmidt, Kelvin Fitial, and Preston Basa who scored at least 12 points apiece. 

Coby Santos fired 26 points to lead Puerto Rico Bento, which dropped to 4-3 in the standings. 

Only two games were completed the previous playdates with Ali’i (5-2) nipping JTM Saipan (5-2), 82-78, in the open division last Thursday and Blue Eagle (3-3) doing a number on RNV Construction (0-5) in the masters division last Friday.
