Kagman teams win ES soccer matches

Kagman Elementary School Blue Marlins’ two soccer teams won each of their games in the NMIFA-PSS Interscholastic Soccer League 2023-2024 at the Northern Mariana Islands Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Monday.

KES 2 showed Brilliant Star School no mercy as they defeated them, 10-2.

The Blue Marlins’ Aiden Rangamar was a one-man army as he soldiered the pitch and took on defenders in his path. His swift footwork and ability to read the defense allowed him to score five consecutive unanswered goals in the span of 17 minutes.

BSS did not give up, however, and tried their best to put at least one goal on the board. The Blue Marlins’ Dakota Inmar made it 6-0 before BSS’ Declan Spaeth found the net in the 6th minute for their first goal. Brayden Brennfleck nipped a second goal four minutes later, for a 2-6 game.

However, Rangamar remained a menace on the pitch as he found the ball again and scored two more goals to put them up, 8-2. It was over for BSS as KES scored two more goals with the clock winding down.

KES then put one more goal over San Vicente Elementary School Canaries, 2-1.

Although SVES drew first blood by way of Aaron Iglecias’ goal in the fifth minute, they could not carry that momentum for the rest of the game. The Blue Marlins swiftly tied the game up a minute later from a goal by Benaiah Murphy.

Then, it was all over for the Canaries’ run as Astrid Masiwemai took the lead with a goal in the 12th minute. The Canaries could not reply and lost by one goal.

Last Friday, William S. Reyes Elementary School blanked Garapan Elementary School, 4-0; Koblerville Elementary School 2 beat Mount Carmel School, 4-1; KagES and Grace Christian Academy ended in a 2-2 draw; Saipan Community School out goaled Eucon International School, 9-0; SVES 2 trounced BSS 2, 9-2; and GES 2 nipped KagES 2, 7-3.
