FMS still undefeated, drenches DMS, 33-14

Defending champions Francisco M. Sablan Middle School Napu Riders is still undefeated in the IT&E Interscholastic Boys Middle School Basketball League 2023-2024 as they drenched DanDan Middle School Tottots, 33-14, last Wednesday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

The Napu Riders continue their dominance in the middle school basketball stage with their fourth consecutive win this season. Against the Totttots, they sprinted out of the starting jump ball and immediately sank a 3-pointer by way of Kevin John.

The Tottots struggled to keep possession through the game as Napu Riders’ quick hands and feet allowed them to do the opposite and bank shot after shot. John scored 2 more points and another 3-pointer by Jairus Pangelinan lengthened their lead over DMS.

DMS’ Dane Tibayan tried to keep them close with 4 points and with the help from Rodney Tomei Jr., U-Gene Arriola, and Jaden Andrew, but FMS led 18-10 at the end of the first half.

The second half only made the Napu Riders stronger as they rode on their big lead from the first half. DMS was shut down entirely as they made only four more points, contrasting FMS’ 15-point second half run.

FMS’ lopsided win was led by Andrei Tenorio and Keith Agulto’s 6 points, followed by John, Jairus Pangelinan, and John Rebuenog’s 5 markers each.

In other results, Hopwood Middle School trounced Tanapag Middle School, 38-16; Mount Carmel School bashed HMS JV, 48-18; ChaCha Ocean View Middle School silenced Saipan Community School, 52-9; and Agape Christian School overpowered MCS JV, 43-12.
