Auto-pedestrian crash lands man in CHCC
An auto-pedestrian crash over the weekend landed a man in the Commonwealth Health Center where he was checked and treated. There was no immediate word on the extent of his injuries.
The man was hit by a car along Middle Road just across Mobil Middle Road last Sunday, at around 6:36pm.
The Department of Public Safety and first responders have yet to issue statements about the incident.
According to bystanders, the man is known in the area as “homeless” and regularly roams the streets of Middle Road and Garapan to ask for money.
A woman who claims she saw the crash as it happened said the man was crossing just across Gene’s Barbershop when a dark car hit him. Fortunately, the car stopped and the person in the car immediately got down and tried to help.
About four minutes after the crash, at around 6:40pm, DPS officers and Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services first responders were on scene.
The man was transported to the CHCC for treatment and Saipan Tribune learned that he survived the incident.
