Senator recognizes GCC Cosmetology students for public service

Guam Community College Cosmetology instructors and students were recognized last Wednesday, Jan. 3, with a legislative certificate for their hard work and time in the “Taking Hair and Combing Together for Relief” feel good community effort, post Typhoon Mawar.

The legislative certificate sponsored by Sen. Dwayne T.D. San Nicolas recognizes their outstanding contributions to the community outreach clinics; and commended instructors and students for their efforts in assisting our community after the devastation of the typhoon.

The effort started on June 20, 2023 and ended last July 25 with 315 free haircuts to Guam residents in need of a break from the reality of post-typhoon clean up and recovery. Altogether the dollar value on the haircuts reached $11,025.

Receiving a certificate on Wednesday included students: Keith Nauta, Harry Cruz, James Jones, Jeremiah Kintoki, Rolani Rivera, Momilani Mafnas, Ronalyn Macagba, Justine Chargualaf, Hailey Dirige, Jerrica Manley, Deanna Weger, Rihanna Balajadia, Dominic Cruz, Julio Torres, Myka Guiking, Jhontel Dorion, Kristin Chloe Darapiza, Hyobin Chun, Leanne Consolacion, Makailah Taliman, Juliana Santos, Angeli Dayrit, Alexandra Pajela. Instructor Janice Trina Aguon was also presented with a certificate. (GCC)
